About Us

Peek-a-Boutique was founded by Stacy Weitzman in August 2005. She had always dreamt of opening her own city-inspired boutique in the "burbs". Her dream came true when she found the perfect location to call her own. Located in the heart of Northbrook, Illinois, she found a quaint space amongst many established local businesses. Like her neighbors, she plans to be around for a very long time.

At Peek-a-Boutique you will find unique apparel and accessories for babies, toddlers and expecting moms. Stacy's vendors sell specifically to high-end boutiques. You will find infant/toddler (through size 6 for boys and size 8 for girls) clothing and accessories, diaper bags, custom name jewelry, big brother/sister gifts and more. Stacy hand-selects each item in her shop. Many of her products come from local artists that you can’t find anywhere else. Custom-made items are available on certain product lines. To add that extra special touch you can embroider your favorite blanket, burp cloth set, and more! Stacy will be sure to have all your items "gift-ready" before you leave. She believes presentation is everything!

Stacy's mission is to ensure a unique shopping experience, friendly customer service, upscale products, a loyal customer following, and a smile on your face as you exit the shop.

"I can't wait for you to come in and experience Peek-a-Boutique. Thank you to everyone who has supported me through the first five years!"

Sincerely,

Rebecca...our "Saturday Girl"

Although Rebecca fills her weekdays by being a live-in nanny to two young girls, she is bright-eyed and ready to take on the challenge of working at Peek-a-Boutique (her favorite shop!!). Rebecca is from a small town called Christmas Valley, OR. She grew up on a farm, but has adjusted well to life in the suburbs of Chicago. If she's not working at the shop, caring for kids, or participating in Sunday groups, she is busy creating hair accessories and more! Her work ethic, positive attitude, and down to earth nature is apparent the minute you step through the doors. Stop in on any Saturday and Rebecca will be sure to help you pick out the perfect gift or something special for your little ones!!

"Rebecca goes ABOVE AND BEYOND and always thinks outside the box. She is a dream to have working for me. She not only is my right hand girl, but a very dear friend. I am so lucky to have her!" Stacy

She is looking forward to this opportunity to use her skills and knowledge and is excited to jump back in and get her feet wet all over again. She is really excited to be a part of Peek-a-Boutique! She will be sure to help you find the perfect gift or help you pick the best wardrobe for your little ones. She has a great eye for fashion, so you will always be in great hands! Stop by to say hi!
Lisa

As a full-time mom of two and part-time graphic designer, Lisa has also found some extra time to work at the perfect store, Peek-a-Boutique. Lisa and Peek-a-Boutique (along with Stacy) have many things in common: a laid back, casual, pressure-free attitude with an incredible eye for detail and true appreciation for high quality products. A match made in heaven. Lisa grew up in the general area and now happily calls Northbrook home with her husband, two kids and golden retriever. You can count on being greeted at the store with Lisa's warm smile and willingness to help you find just what you're looking for. Stop in to shop and say hi!

Written by my Grandfather, Bentley Weitzman

As she drove her speedy chariot thru Tallahassee, Orlando, Boston and back to Chicago her DREAM was beginning to form it's own body with ideas, with excitement and with precious hope.

She always loved and admired her beautiful sister, Cari, whose strength and perseverance took her through law school and then to become a successful attorney; but she had her own motivating secret---she was the DREAMER. The private thoughts within herself---at night when falling the ideas began to flow like tears of happiness. The DREAM was hers alone---nobody knew.

And when she entered Lifetime Fitness with her creativity, boundless energy and smiling personality, the DREAM started to expand with exciting ideas. Her special caring of hundreds of young children created thoughts of little treasures, little clothes and cherished gifts for the little guys and gals of the world. But how to start---where to go---who to see?

With only limited knowledge and a sturdy support group the DREAMER began her tenacious search for her thousand friends. The DREAM floated on billowing white clouds and quickly began to spread with creativity, design and expectations straight from her heart and soul. The DREAMER was the catalyst---she was now in command-and thoughts became reality. Find a location--set a budget--start the marketing--create a name Peek a Boo---NO NO NO---Peek-a-Boutique. Assistance came from the fingers, the hands and the brains of family and friends but the DREAMER was always in charge--she had the final say.

The thousand friends were spread from the Atlantic to the Pacific and she knew them all---they just never met. Her dainty hand twisted and turned the power card as she bought and bought and bought. And now her friends began to arrive at the store, in startling numbers, eager to show their colors, their styles and their uniqueness. Each one magically found its place to hang in a respectable and showy manner. They displayed themselves as if they had been there many times before.

When it was time for a friend to leave and say goodbye, the time was one of joy and respect---flowing tissue, a custom box, a monogrammed bag and a scintillating bow that said a merry hello and goodbye at the same time. And on to a new home to be with precious babies. And don't forget Mr. Computer--he registered his "Thanks For The Memory" with a quick click and flashing numbers.

At the end of the day when the doors swing closed, the DREAMER'S friends stay still and silent, but the unsaid goodnights fill the night air and in the morning when the door swings open the DREAMER'S eyes sparkle with inspiration and love as she sees her thousand friends happily living in her gifted hands.

Now as the DREAM develops into sales, financials, customers, problems and great days and slow days, the thousand friends silently watch as the DREAMER becomes the LEADER, the BOSS, the MOTIVATOR that will take Peek-a-Boutique to a successful level.

The DREAMER and the LEADER is not only delightful, pretty and charming----she is my granddaughter Stacy. Grandma and I have loved you from day one and today we share your magnificent DREAM coming true.
