Northbrook Star Thursday September 22, 2005 Unique, one-of-a-kind baby and toddler clothing, as well as upscale gifts, accessories, maternity items, jewelry and bath products are just a few of the items that set Peek-a-Boutique apart. Owner Stacy Weitzman used her experience as a preschool teacher and manager of a Lifetime Fitness Child Center to launch her business. With limited numbers of each item, customers leave her store knowing they will not run into anyone else with the same thing. Opened in August 2005 the store carries “shabby chic” lines, including Posh Baby, Tiny Toes, Ally Kats, Baby Scrubs, Lexie Rose, Samson Martin and LittLe Giraffe. Weitzman plans on hosting events that feature seasonal items she selects from area artists as well as trunk shows. Gift and baby items range in price from $10 to $200. Visit the store from 10 am. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Dundee Rd., Northbrook; 847-272-7133), which opens August 25th. “Almost everything in the store is upscale, and I don’t carry things you’d typically find in a department store,” says owner Stacy Weitzman, a former preschool teacher and day-care manager. From infant car seat covers in plush, cozy fabrics to the incredibly popular “Due In . . . ” tees by Samson Martin for moms-to-be, the store stocks hard-to-find lines in sizes up to 4T. There’s also jewelry, diaper bags, and lots of gret finds for little boys.
